ABOUT THIS CLEANSER

This BHA cleanser is designed as a treatment step rather than an everyday facewash, best used up to once daily in the AM or PM depending on how your skin tolerates it.

As a wash-off product, this salicylic acid cleanser pairs safely before leave-on actives like the Azelaic 10 Serum, making it easy to slot into a routine without disrupting other steps.

For anyone easing into it, starting every other day and building up frequency is the safest way to use this cleanser for acne prone skin without overdoing it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is it best for?

The BHA Aloe Jelly Cleanser is suitable for those with oily skin, acne, clogged pores, whiteheads, blackheads and comedones. It can also be used by dry or sensitive skin types if you experience any of these issues.

Is it suitable for dry or sensitive skin?

It is formulated for oily or acne prone skin and can feel drying with daily use. Dry or sensitive skin should use it less often and always follow with a moisturiser like Cerapair.

Is this cleanser pregnancy and breastfeeding safe?

Salicylic acid is generally considered safe if used at concentrations less than 3% during pregnancy or breastfeeding. While medical guidance supports this, many people avoid it during pregnancy or while trying to conceive, to remove any possible risk. We recommend consulting your doctor before use. During breastfeeding, wash off products like cleansers are considered safe but we still recommend consulting your doctor to feel completely confident before use.

Can I use it every day as facewash?

This is not a regular facewash, it is a treatment cleanser for oily, acne prone or congestion prone skin. It is suitable for use up to once daily, in the AM or PM. If your skin feels tight, using it two to three times a week is enough to keep pores clear.

Can I follow it with other actives like the Azelaic 10 Serum?

Yes, as a wash off product, it pairs fine before serums like Azelaic 10. Just be mindful of your total daily actives load if you're also following with AHA or BHA or retinoids, to avoid disrupting your skin barrier.

Can it cause purging?

Yes, a salicylic acid cleanser can cause purging which means the acne already formed underneath is coming up to the surface. If it is purging it should subside within 2 to 3 weeks, and acne will appear on the same areas where it normally appears for you.

Does it contain sulfates or harsh detergents?

No. It cleanses with gentle, coconut derived agents such as coco-glucoside and decyl glucoside, so it lifts oil and dirt without stripping the skin.
